Met Gala was held last evening which saw some of the most unique dresses worn by the biggest names in the industry.
Like every year, the fashion event comes with a unique theme and the official Costume Institute exhibition on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’. However, the dress code and general theme of the Met Gala was the ‘Garden of Time’.
Very few followed the dress code and others failed miserably, including many A-listers celebrities. So, let’s have a look at the worst looks of the 2024 Met Gala:
1) Dua Lipa
Singer Dua Lipa served an all-black look wearing a skin-bearing lace skirt and corset set which did not sync with the theme at all.
2) Michelle Yeoh
The renowned actress who is now an Academy Award winner as well failed to impress with her ‘tin foil’ gown designed by Balenciaga.
3) Rita Ora
If you’re going to do nude illusion on the Met Gala red carpet, it has to be flawlessly executed — and in Rita Ora’s case, the look is not.
4) Lizzo
Lizzo wore a nude-coloured corseted gown designed by Paris-based label Weinsanto with a headpiece and flared bottoms making her look like a bloomed flower and not up to mark to the theme.
5) Doja Cat
Doja Cat has a habit of being unique but this time she left everyone in a chokehold as she strutted in style wearing a maxi-length wet T-shirt—by Vetements. Her makeup for the look included glittery painted teardrops suspending from her smokey eyes.
6) Kylie Jenner
Despite wearing a pale pink Oscar de la Renta gown, Kylie Jenner didn’t live up to the dress code.
7) Harrison Ghee
Harrison Ghee’s attire which was mainly a cotton candy-colored dress failed to impress many people. From the mix-matched colors to the feathers and large bow, it was a disaster.
8) Jordan Roth
While we can appreciate the campiness of this head-to-toe floral look, Jordan Roth’s attire for the evening is certainly strange.
9) Ivy Getty
Ivy Getty’s Conner Ives dress captured the theme but had too much going on. The silhouette of the peach dress was pretty, and it incorporated the floral theme with appliqué running the length of the dress.
10) Cardi B
Known for her bold fashion choices, Cardi B shut down the red carpet after she arrived wearing a black gown and oversized train. What was she thinking?
