Maulana Tahir Ashrafi has dismissed Bushra Bibi’s recent statement as untrue, stating that he was personally present during the visit in question alongside Imran Khan.
While reacting to Bushra Bibi’s claims, he said that General Qamar Javed Bajwa was also part of the Madinah visit. Ashrafi further added, “During this trip, whatever Imran Khan requested was granted in abundance. What Shariah did Imran Khan implement that could have threatened Saudi Arabia?”
Ashrafi emphasized that Islamic laws are already enforced in Saudi Arabia and claimed that certain groups are spreading propaganda against Saudi Arabia to hinder its investments in Pakistan. He remarked, “This is an attempt to please anti-Pakistan and anti-Saudi forces.”
He also highlighted the close collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on the Palestine issue, asserting, “Both nations will not back down even an inch from their stance.”
In a video statement, Bushra Bibi, the wife of the PTI founder, claimed that Imran Khan faced backlash from Saudi officials following his barefoot visit to Madinah. According to her, Saudi officials reportedly told General Bajwa, “Why have you brought such a person? We don’t need people like him.”
She further alleged that the smear campaign against Imran Khan and herself began following this incident. She said, “They started defaming us, calling the PTI founder a Jewish agent and spreading false allegations against me.”
Close associates of former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa have rejected Bushra Bibi’s claims, calling them entirely false.
These sources also emphasized that no such incident occurred during the visit, contradicting Bushra Bibi’s version of events.
