LAHORE: The son of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz, Junaid Safdar, will tie the knot this month in London.
According to reports, Junaid Safdar is getting married to Ayesha Said, the daughter of Saif-ur-Rehman in London on August 22. The wedding ceremony will be held at Hyde Park Corner in Lansborough. The invitation for the wedding ceremony has been sent to the guests.
Maryam Nawaz confirmed that her son is getting married in London but she will not attend the wedding. “I will not be able to attend the ceremony owing to blatant victimisation, bogus cases and my name on ECL,” she said in a message on Twitter.
“I was in jail when my beloved mother passed away and now I won’t be able to share my son’s happiness, but, I will NOT make any request to this government for travel abroad. I leave the matter to Almighty Allah,” she added.

Saif-ur-Rehman served as chairman of the Ehtesaab Bureau (1997-99) during the second term of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Maryam Nawaz will not attend the marriage ceremony since her name is placed on the Exit Control List (ECL). It is also learned that Maryam Nawaz will host a reception for friends and family in Lahore, while her father Nawaz Sharif will preside over the festivities in the UK.
Last month, Junaid became the first Pakistani to captain Cambridge University’s polo team. His pony has also reportedly been declared the best pony in the game.
