KARACHI: Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (RA) is being observed with devotion and respect across the country today.
On this occasion, mourning processions will be held in different cities of the country.
Foolproof security arrangements have been made across the country on this occasion. Participants will be allowed to enter only through walk-through gates and closed-circuit cameras have also been installed on the routes.
Karachi
All educational institutions will remain closed today across Sindh. In Karachi, the mourning procession will leave from Nishtar Park at 10 am and end at Hussainiya Iranian Imam Bargah, Kharadar.
The procession passes through Nishtar Park, Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Road, Father James Road, MA Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Regal Chowk, Priddy Street, MA Jinnah Road again, Bolton Market, Bhati Bazar, Kharadar, Nawab Mohabbate Khanji Road and Hussainia. Irani Imam will continue till Bargah.
Traffic will be diverted to Nishtar Road from Soldier Bazar, Coast Guards, and Anklesaria Chowk. Commuters going to MA Jinnah Road from Nazimabad will be diverted from Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road and then Garden to reach their destination.
Traffic coming from Liaquatabad towards MA Jinnah Road will be diverted from Tin Hatti Chowk to Jail Road and Martin Road.
Furthermore, traffic coming from Stadium Road towards MA Jinnah Road will be allowed to come from New MA Jinnah Road. These vehicles can be accessed from Shahrah Quaideen to Shahrah Faisal through Dadabhai Norji Road, Kashmir Road, and Society Light Signal.
Traffic coming from Gulbarg towards MA Jinnah Road will be diverted from Liaquatabad No. 10 to Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, before diverting to Habib Bank Flyover, State Avenue Road, and Shershah to Maripur. will No traffic will be allowed to pass through Gurmandar Chowk on the procession route.
Rawalpindi
A mourning procession will be taken out from Imambargah Mohanpura Waqar Zaidi, it will pass through Mohanpura, Novelty Cinema Chowk, Kashmiri Bazar, Fawara Chowk, Iqbal Road, and Bohar Bazar Chowk and end at Imambargah Colonel Maqbool. Will be accepted.
Islamabad
The main procession in Islamabad will take off from Imam Bargah Qasr Zainabiya Sector G-5/4.
