RAWALPINDI: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) in Rawalpindi has arrested a man impersonating an army captain on Friday afternoon.
According to details, the suspect, identified as Suleman, used to spread terror in his neighbourhood and had stolen millions of rupees from multiple residents in the name of fake investments.
A CIA spokesperson said, “Suleman told people he would get them jobs and took money from them in return,” he added. The investigation agency informed that the suspect was arrested during a raid in the Faizabad area.
During the raid, the investigation agency also seized a wireless set, fake army uniforms and badges from his possession. A case has been registered. The suspect has been taken into police custody and is being interrogated.
Earlier in August, a man was arrested for falsely claiming to the legal adviser of the Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and fraudulently receiving vast amounts from various individuals.
