SWAT: The Malam Jabba ski resort has been closed for tourists after attackers have vandalized it over a dispute with staff.
According to deputy commissioner Swat, there was an unresolved dispute over the right of way between local residents and the management of the ski resort after which some trespassers had wrecked the barriers and misbehaved with its private security staff.
Moreover, this is for the third time in a year, as earlier such incidents occurred over the past two years. In April the resort was shut down after the Peshawar High Court’s Mingora bench ruled that the entry fee to the resort was unlawful.

However, Swat DPO Zahid Nawaz said on the incident, “The situation is under control and local police were present at the spot while Charbagh AC was busy in negotiations with both sides.”
Meanwhile, recreational activities would be suspended at the ski resort until police and law enforcement agencies provide the staff with proper security.
The resort is present in the Hindu Kush mountain range nearly 40 km from Saidu Sharif in Swat Valley. The route to the beautiful site is 314 km from Islamabad and 51 km from Saidu Sharif Airport.
