The memoir turned ‘Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay and a Mother’s will to survive’ by Stephanie Land’, following a single mother who gets a job at a cleaning house and leaving her abusive boyfriend moves ahead to make her life better to live for, is an empathetic depiction of a mother’s struggle against intense bureaucracy system to require government assistance in America.
However, the character named ‘Alex’ can be seen in the show handling a maze of load of forms to fill out in hopes of qualifying for aid, when she losses custody for her only child. Because, she was painted as an unfit parent to her by her alcoholic ex-boyfriend and was given only a week to file proof of housing to show that she is stable and able to care for Maddy her daughter, by the legal authorities.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Alex had only an amount of $6 which is also draining continuously. In so many dire situations how a mother survives and fights, only to live with her daughter a peaceful life is what this intense and riveting emotional series revolves around which is an absolute worth to give it a watch.
Although, ‘Maid’ gives strength to the poor and single mothers who strive every day for the betterment of themselves and their family who find themselves dependent on their toxic relations and their life revolves around their toxic partners. The show gives them the courage to put a brake on it and move ahead with hopes and their heads high to fight for betterment in the future.
