Pashunkhuwa Milli Awami Party and opposition alliance Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aeen Pakistan (Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan) leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai has said that we should not be forced to take our case to the International Court of Justice.
Speaking at a tribal peace jirga organized by Tehreek-e-Insaf in Peshawar, Mahmood Khan said that decisions should be based on the majority opinion of the people, but this is not the case. In the past, when the tribal merger bill was presented in parliament, it was not included in the agenda.
He said that the blessings mentioned in Surah Rahman are present in our tribal areas, and the Pashtuns have a right to these natural resources. No one has conquered us; rather, we are settled on our own land.
Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that operations in the tribal districts are being conducted to seize natural resources. If there is peace here, tourists from all over the world will come to this area. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a major center of Buddhism, and if there is peace, foreign tourists will come here, and the people of Pashtunkhwa are hospitable, which will further increase tourism.
He said that we want to live in this country, but not as slaves. Since Pakistan was formed, thousands of miles of railway lines have been consumed. Mohmand marble and Waziristan are filled with gold. Mr. Zardari is the President of the country, and he should decide that the natural resources belong only to the people.
