LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has served notice to the federal government in the high treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf.
The LHC served notice to the federal government in a plea of Musharraf against the formation of the special court in the same case. The federal government has been asked to submit its reply in the plea on December 17.
Last week, the counsel for Musharraf filed a petition in the high court challenging the formation of a special court as unconstitutional. It stated that no permission was taken from the federal cabinet for initiating a trial against the former military ruler.
The petition stated that the appointment of the prosecutor of the special court and other processes was also unlawful.
