LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted bail to opposition leader Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif in the money laundering case.
The court ordered Hamza Shahbaz to two bonds of Rs. 10 million each. A two-member bench headed by Justice Sarfraz Dogar granted bail to Hamza Shahbaz. Last month, a three-member bench headed by Justice Mushir Alam and comprising Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Yahyah Afridi had disposed a post-arrest bail petition filed by Hamza Shahbaz.

On 11th November last year, Mian Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz Sharif were indicted in a money-laundering reference by the accountability court. All the accused in the case pleaded not guilty. Shehbaz Sharif, while rejecting allegations of the anti-graft watchdog, said that he was being politically victimized.
Earlier, Hamza Shahbaz had tested positive for novel COVID-19. On a social media website Twitter, Marriyum Aurangzeb announced that Hamza Shahbaz tested positive for novel COVID-19. He suffered from a fever for the last three days.
