LAHORE: The owner of two offshore companies registered at a similar address as Prime Minister Imran Khan has revealed that the accounts were registered by him and denied any role of the premier.
According to reports, two offshore companies, Hawk Field Limited and Lock Gate Investment, were registered at House No 2. Zaman Park, the private residence of the prime minister. The companies were registered in the name of Fariduddin, who is a resident of Zaman Park and his friend, who is currently in United Kingdom.
Speaking to a private channel, Fariduddin denied that Prime Minister Imran Khan had any role in the offshore companies. He said the confusion was created after Zaman Park has three similar House No. 2 addresses in the same area.
He said these companies were registered in 2008 and were shut down in 2013. Farid said he and Imran khan belonged to the Burki family but he has not met him ever since he became prime minister.
SAPM on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill said that the prime minister does not have a Benami account and had disclosed his offshore company previously before the court.
He said Imran Khan has presented details of his assets before the court. He add that when he asked Imran Khan, the prime minister denied having any relative named Fariduddin.
“Farid Uddin has never met Imran Khan face to face and it may however be possible that they had attended an extended family function,” he said while denying any direct links of the prime minister with the person owning the offshore accounts.
