KARACHI: A lady doctor has been fined Rs 2.5 lakh by the court for selling a diet plan.
According to the details, in the petition submitted by a man named Abdul Jabbar Laghari, a citizen who bought a diet plan in Karachi East, against Lady Dr. Nida, it was stated that he bought a diet plan for his mother in September 2022.
In the application submitted in the Consumer Court Karachi East, it was said that Rs 38,000 was fully paid for the diet plan purchased from Dr. Nida on a promise that his mother will lose 10 kg weight in one month but it did not happen.
The petitioner said that during the implementation of the diet plan, his mother started having stomach pain, to which she complained to the doctor, but no action was taken by the doctor, nor was his money returned.
The court accepted the position of the petitioner and gave a decision in favor of the citizen who bought the diet plan. The defendant Dr. Nada deposited the amount of fine imposed by the court of Rs 2.5 lakh in the court.
