Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, announced on Tuesday that efforts for a permanent ceasefire in the violence-stricken Kurram district are nearing success.
Speaking to media in Peshawar, Gandapur highlighted the province’s commitment to restoring peace and security, stating, “The unrest in Kurram has lingered for over five decades, but a resolution is now within reach.” He assured personal oversight to ensure enduring peace in the region.
According to a report by Pak Observer, Gandapur also reaffirmed the PTI’s commitment to achieving “Haqeeqi Azadi” by 2025, urging those presenting criticisms to substantiate their claims with tangible results.
Highlighting KP’s fiscal achievements, he noted a 24% revenue increase, with collections exceeding targets by Rs. 103 billion. Contrastingly, he criticized the federal and Punjab governments for their economic shortcomings, specifically citing Punjab’s Rs. 150 billion deficit.
Gandapur emphasized that KP’s performance had earned IMF acknowledgment for meeting its financial goals. He concluded by asserting that the provincial government’s efforts are driven by strong public support and a dedication to welfare.
