The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced free transport for female students of middle schools in different districts of the province.
In this regard, a letter has been sent to the education officers of 10 districts. In the initial phase, free transport facilities will be provided to female students of 10 backward districts.
These include Upper and Lower Kohistan, Kolai Palace, Torghar, Lakki Marwat, DI Khan, Hangu, Kohat, Bannu, and Charsadda. The decision will be implemented from the beginning of the next academic year.
According to the letter, the government’s initiative will reduce the travel problems faced by female students, and those students whose school is one and a half kilometers or more away from their homes will benefit.
Last month, the Punjab government unveiled a new initiative to provide free public transport to students, senior citizens, and individuals with disabilities across the province, aiming to simplify and reduce travel expenses for these groups.
