Peshawar: The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced the provision of solar systems for minority worship places across the province and scholarships worth 100 million rupees for students from the minority community.
The announcement was made during a meeting between the Chief Minister, Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur, and Shoaib Suddle, Chairman of the One Man Commission on Minority Rights. The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of the Department of Auqaf and Religious Affairs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other relevant officials.
The discussions focused on the welfare and rights of religious minorities in the province. During the meeting, the Chief Minister made several key announcements for the betterment of the minority communities.
The Chief Minister announced the provision of special training for minority children at the provincial government’s Service Training Institute. This training will assist minority students in preparing for competitive exams.
Additionally, the Chief Minister revealed plans to provide special scholarships for minority students, amounting to 100 million rupees. The Chief Minister also announced the installation of solar systems at the worship places of minorities across the province.
He directed the police authorities to form a special security force for the protection of minority leaders and ordered foolproof security for minority worship places. The Chief Minister instructed the relevant authorities to ensure the implementation of the 5% quota for minorities in government jobs and the 2% quota in educational institution admissions.
Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized that the federal government should provide machines for the recycling of deceased minorities’ bodies and also for the disposal of deteriorating copies of the Quran.
He further stated that the protection of the rights of minorities and their welfare is a key priority of the provincial government, and ensuring equal opportunities for minorities in all sectors is part of PTI’s manifesto.
