The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to establish a Quran Mahal in Peshawar to gather and conserve old copies of the Holy Book. This decision was made during a meeting of the Auqaf and Religious Affairs department, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
CM Gandapur instructed the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) to allocate land for the Quran Mahal, which will be built in a style consistent with Islamic architecture.
He urged officials to collect ancient writings of the Holy Quran. It was previously decided that sacred books in poor condition would be gathered from across the region and stored at the Quran Mahal. The chief minister emphasized that the Quran Mahal should be a stunning example of Islamic architecture.
Moreover, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur decided during the meeting to celebrate the Rahmat-ul-Alameen Conference at the official level this year, with grand events planned across the province. Arrangements will be made to hold the conference in Peshawar as well as in all divisional and district headquarters.
