A severe shortage of essential medicines in Kurram, including life-saving drugs, has prompted the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to airlift supplies to the region via helicopter.
Officials attribute the shortage to a road blockage that has disrupted the usual supply routes. The Chief Minister’s helicopter is being used for the urgent delivery of medicines.
In a statement to the media, KP Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam confirmed that the situation in Kurram is gradually returning to normal, with a complete ceasefire now in effect.
He added that food and other essential supplies will also be sent to Parachinar alongside the medicines.
Authorities are working to restore peace and reopen the blocked roads as quickly as possible. Judges and their families from Kurram have been safely evacuated.
