Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Yar Muhammad Khan Niazi, announced the successful completion of the Raghagan Dam in Bajaur district, marking a huge milestone for the provincial government.
The project, aligned with the government’s inclusive and people-centric vision, is poised to transform the region’s agriculture and economy. Equipped with an 11-kilometer canal system, the dam will irrigate 4,616 acres of barren land, significantly increasing agricultural productivity.
Beyond agricultural benefits, the dam is designed to mitigate flood risks for low-lying areas and enhance groundwater reserves. It is not just a solution to water and agricultural challenges but a cornerstone for the economic rejuvenation of the Bajaur district.
Efforts are also underway to promote the dam’s location as a tourist attraction, which is anticipated to bring further economic opportunities to the region.
With the operationalization of the Raghagan Dam, Chief Minister Niazi emphasized its vital role in fostering development, agricultural advancement, and economic prosperity in Bajaur, underscoring that progress is a fundamental right for every individual.
