UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov is reportedly planning to cut all ties with MMA just a couple of years after announcing his retirement.
After defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, Nurmagomedov decided to retire and focus on starting his own promotion, Eagle FC.
“Former #UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is reportedly planning to completely leave MMA,” journalist Chisanga Malata revealed on Twitter.

He won all 29 of his fights before declaring his retirement from MMA, earning him a spot in the UFC Hall of Fame. It should be emphasized that his last three fights were against challenging foes like Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, and Conor McGregor.
“Today I want to say this is my last fight,” Nurmagomedov declared back in March 2021.
“No way am I coming here without my father. When UFC called me about Justin I spoke with my mother for three days.
“She didn’t want me to fight without father and I said this is my last fight, and I have given her my word.”
