Kate Winslet, who co-starred with Leonardo DiCaprio in the iconic love story Titanic as Rose DeWitt, has finally revealed what might have happened if her character had assisted Jack Dawson to get on the door in the final scene.
Titanic’s last scene has undoubtedly been one of Hollywood’s most criticized. Many claim that DiCaprio’s character gives Rose a door to be on and rescues her from hypothermia in one of the final sequences of the film. Winslets’ character could have given Jack some room but did not. DiCaprio has stayed away from the discussion. Winslet, however, opened up about the scene.
After a lot of debate, Winslet was asked about it and she confirmed what many believed, they would both have drowned because of the area of the door.
“I don’t f—ing know. That’s the answer, is that I I don’t f—ing know!” Winslet said, before she dug deep to put an end to the discussion.
“One thing I can honestly tell you, ” she said. “If you put two adults on a standup paddle board it becomes immediately unstable.”
Kate Winslet has the answer to your (or my?) TITANIC door question FINALLY!

Winslet elaborated: “I actually don’t believe that we would have survived if we had both gotten on that door. It would not have been a sustainable idea.
“So you heard it here for the first time. Yes, he could have fit on that door, but it would not have stayed afloat.”
James Cameron, who directed the film, responded to the controversy and dismissed it as foolish, saying that he had to follow the screenplay and that Jack had to perish for the plot to make sense.
I think it’s sort of stupid, actually, that we’re having this discussion 20 years later, Cameron said in a Vanity Fair interview.
