A shocking incident occurred in Karachi’s Korangi area, where a woman, accompanied by three accomplices on two motorcycles, robbed a motorcyclist at gunpoint.
According to the FIR filed at the Awami Colony Police Station, the victim stated that a woman asked for a lift at Korangi Singer Chowrangi. When he stopped, the woman pulled out a gun and snatched cash and his mobile phone.
The incident occurred near Model Park, Korangi No. 5. The victim reported that the woman got off the motorcycle, pulled out a gun from her handbag, and pointed it at his chest.
The robbers fled the scene, leaving the victim shaken. This incident is part of a growing trend of street crime and murders in Karachi.
Earlier, a 55-year-old auto parts trader, Asif Jaan, was killed in a shooting incident in North Nazimabad.
Karachi has witnessed a staggering surge in street crimes, with over 44,000 incidents reported in just the first seven months of the year 2024.
As per the data released by the local police of Karachi, the majority of the crimes involved the theft of motorcycles in the metropolis.
In the span of the first seven months of the current year, more than 31,000 motorcycles were either stolen or snatched from their owners, making them the most common target in these street crime incidents, while, over 11,800 mobile phones were snatched from citizens.
