Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to close its offices in Islamabad for three days due to upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference.
The national carrier has issued a circular in this regard, stating that its offices will remain closed from October 14 to 16.
The circular states that the offices will remain closed due to the SCO summit. It added that employees working in shifts at the airport will continue their duties.
The SCO summit is taking place in Islamabad on October 15 and 16, with various heads of state, including Indian foreign minister, participating in it.
Authorities have also imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi and Islamabad from October 12 to 17, prohibiting any gatherings or protests.
Additionally, the administration has ordered the closure of educational institutions, restaurants, hostels, and cafés in the twin cities.
