KARACHI: Karachi’s weather is expected to remain hot and humid for the next three days, said the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday.
The persistent hot weather is expected to ease up within three days as a westerly weather system moves into the country. The meteorological department anticipates dry and hot conditions for the next 24 hours, potentially resulting in temperature spikes across various parts of the city.
The official noted that Karachi typically experiences hotter weather towards the end of March due to dry winds originating from Rajasthan. However, a westerly weather system is set to arrive in Pakistan on March 21, bringing milder temperatures to Karachi under its influence, as stated by Sarfaraz.
Furthermore, the meteorological official suggested that the return of sea winds from the southwest would contribute to maintaining pleasant weather conditions in the city. Sarfaraz also dismissed the likelihood of a heatwave occurring in the metropolis.
With the impending heatwave, the anticipated lowest temperature in Karachi is 18.5 degrees Celsius, marking a significant departure from current conditions. Additionally, the humidity level stands at 38%, exacerbating the overall warm and arid climate.
