KARACHI: Several areas across the Metropolis received rain on Thursday morning for the second consecutive day, turning the weather pleasant, as Muslims across the world observed 1st of Ramzan.
People at around 7:30 am Thursday morning started uploading videos showing light to moderate shower lashing their areas.
As per details, Lyari, Surjani Town, Shara-e-Faisal, Airport, Saddar, M.A Jinnah Road, Shah Faisal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Sachal Goth, Malir, Model Colony, Sohrab Goth, Gulzar-e-Hijri and surrounding areas received shower.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had forecast rains and thunderstorms in Karachi and other parts of Sindh from Wednesday.
The met office noted that a rain and thunder system had developed in Arabic Ocean and had brought rain and thunder cells in some parts of the city.
The new rain system can also hit Hyderabad, Badin and Thatta. The rain system is likely to last for two days in Karachi, the PMD said in its circular.
Meanwhile, the Met Department said that elsewhere in the country, rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Punjab, Lower Sindh, Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next twelve hours.
Isolated hailstorm may occur during the forecast period. Heavy falls are expected in north and northeastern Balochistan.
