In preparation for the Yaum-i-Ali procession scheduled for today (Tuesday), Karachi police have unveiled a detailed traffic management plan to address expected road closures and diversions across the city.
The procession will begin in Saddar and move towards Shah Khurasan, resulting in major disruptions along several key routes.
Key Road Closures and Diversions
MA Jinnah Road will be closed from Tibet Center to Gurumandir Chowk, with surrounding streets also facing closures.
Bahadur Yar Jang Road will remain open to traffic, offering an alternate route for commuters.
For vehicles traveling from Gurumandir to Tower, drivers are advised to take Soldier Bazaar No. 1 signal towards Coast Guard and Uncle Saria Signal to help reduce congestion.
Commuters coming from Society Light Signal will be able to access Khudadad Colony Bridge, with further diversions leading to Empress Market.
Alternate Routes for Commuters
Burns Road travelers should use Eidgah Chowk to reach their destinations.
Traffic from Jamia Cloth will be diverted towards Jubilee, Tibet Center, and Regal Chowk.
At Fawara Chowk, vehicles will be redirected to Paradise Signal, the Passport Office, and Empress Market.
Traffic from Garden Baghicha will be rerouted to Anklesaria Hospital, Gull Plaza, and Tibet Chowk.
The Karachi traffic police have urged the public to follow these alternate routes to minimize disruptions. Commuters can also stay updated by calling 1915, following official social media accounts, or tuning in to FM Radio 88.6 for real-time traffic updates.
