The brother of the victim opened fire at the couple. Safdar, who worked as a waiter at a hotel, lost his life on the spot due to the shooting, while Azra suffered critical head injuries and was rushed to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.
The police investigation reveals that Safdar and Azra had been invited to Azra’s family home when the incident took place. Azra’s brother, named Abbas, is suspected to have committed the act. He shot at the couple, leading to this tragic outcome.
After carrying out the heinous crime, Abbas, who works as a rickshaw driver, managed to flee from the scene, and law enforcement is actively searching for him. The authorities suspect that the motive behind this act of violence is related to so-called “honour” issues.
