A tragic incident occurred at a wedding in Karachi’s Landhi area, where a 45-year-old man named Hameed was killed after being struck by a bullet during celebratory firing.
According to a report by ARY News on Tuesday, police reported that the groom’s relatives were firing in the air to mark the occasion in Landhi No. 06. Hameed, who was both a relative and neighbor of the groom, was hit in the chest, and the wound proved fatal. When police arrived, the homes hosting the ceremony were locked, and several individuals have been detained for questioning.
This event follows a similar incident in December of the previous year in Karachi’s Keamari area. During a wedding in Gulshan-e-Sikandarabad, celebratory firing resulted in the death of a 13-year-old boy and injuries to two others.
Police reported that the groom and his father fled the scene, while authorities arrested three suspects. The investigation is ongoing, and a search operation has been launched to capture the prime suspect.
As reported by police, the deceased boy and the injured were related to the groom’s family. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Keamari, Faisal Ali, confirmed the arrest of three suspects and noted that the groom and bride belong to the same community.
