The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has reduced the paper scrutiny fee by 50%, lowering it to Rs500, to ease the burden on students seeking rechecks of their papers.
This decision follows widespread concerns over the recently announced intermediate part-1 results for 2024.
Syed Sharaf Ali Shah, the newly appointed chairman of the Higher Secondary Education Board Karachi, has formed an inquiry committee to address student complaints regarding the results. Shah, who assumed office on Friday, January 3, met with the Secretary of the Universities and Boards Department, Muhammad Abbas Baloch, to discuss these issues.
The committee is tasked with thoroughly investigating the results, ensuring transparency, and restoring student confidence. It aims to complete its inquiry and resolve complaints within one month.
Chairman Shah stressed the importance of addressing students’ concerns, calling them the priority and the future of the nation.
He assured that the committee would operate impartially to improve the examination process and enhance transparency in paper checking and result preparation.
