A judicial magistrate in Karachi’s South district has released dozens of detained PTI workers after the investigating officer withdrew charges related to protesting near Empress Market.
The hearing of the case regarding the protest near Empress Market took place in the court of the Judicial Magistrate South.
During the proceedings, the investigating officer submitted a report to the court, and the police subsequently withdrew the charges against the accused. As a result, the court ordered their release.
The case had initially listed 400 to 500 individuals. Senior PTI leaders from Sindh, including Haleem Adil Sheikh, Khurram Sher Zaman, Saeed Afridi, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, and Advocate Shujaat Ali Khan, were among those named in the case, which was filed the previous day.
