Well-known singer Ali Noor has been accused of sexual harassment by a woman.
The news of such an incident involving the singer from the band ‘Noori’ has taken social media by storm. It all started when a journalist named Ayesha Binte Rashid accused Noor of sexual harassment in an Instagram post.
In her Instagram post, she called Noor out for his ‘predatory behaviour during a previous interaction with the singer. She posted screenshots of the message she sent Noor calling him out and the singer’s response to her, which he apparently made through his wife Mandana Zaidi’s phone since Rashid had blocked him. In her message, Rashid lambasted Noor and said he was a ‘womaniser’ and was someone with a ‘God complex who is all talk yet doesn’t even have the proactiveness to break out of his own toxic patterns’.
In his response through Zaidi’s phone, Noor appeared to accept the harassment on his part and thanked Rashid for the ‘serious wakeup call and realization’. He said, “I know I have to delve much deeper into the realms of empathy. Most men are sheer novices, so they always end up in God/savior syndrome. I’ve been no exception.”
Soon after seemingly accepting the harassment claim, Noor said that Rashid needed to forgive herself. In this regard, he said that Rashid needed to forgive herself and those around her and that he was the ‘smallest fish in [Rashid’s] sea of torment’.
A local media forum also reported that Noor revealed further information about alleged missing messages he sent to Rashid – messages that have so far not been independently verified. In those messages, which Noor claimed Rashid did not put up, he allegedly said, “Oh man I am completely devastated. I am hating myself; you are absolutely right and sometimes one needs a mirror to see. I couldn’t agree more. I swear as I read this I don’t want to live. I am truly your culprit, and I am willing to pay any punishment.” In his messages, he also said, “You also know that I am not a sexual predator but clearly this direction of the life of mine could turn me into that and worse and My God I am so scared.”
In a recent development, Noor has talked about the allegations in a letter addressed to his ‘Nano’ in his Instagram post in which he claimed that Ayesha has not revealed all of his replies to her. Let’s have a look:
