PTI objects session
PTI Senator leader Faisal Javed has said that party’s senators would not participate in parliament’s joint session.
The PTI leader took to Twitter and said that the electoral reforms bill to be presented and passed in the parliament’s joint session today will deprive overseas Pakistanis of their right to vote.
He added the NAB reforms bill’s purpose will give a new NRO to the ‘imported government’.
He said that the abolishment of electronic voting machine (EVM) would raise doubts about the result in upcoming elections.
The bills have been passed from the National Assembly and the Senate, but the President returned them for review after raising objections.
The president advised the parliamentary committees to review both the bills saying there were passed in a hurry. The joint session of parliament was convened so the bill can be approved without the president’s nod.
