LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Hafiz Salman Butt has passed away on Thursday night at the age of 65.
According to details, he was under treatment at a private hospital in Lahore for several days. His family informed that Salman Butt was suffering from kidney disease.
Hafiz Salman Butt is a former member of National and Provincial Assembly and was also the president of Pakistan Railways Prem Union CBA. He was elected to the National Assembly in 1985, 1990 and 2002 elections.
He was active in student politics and was elected as the vice president of the Punjab University Students Union. He was a member of the Pakistan Football Federation since 1983, Pakistan Swimming Federation since 1986 and Lahore District Hockey Association since 1990.
