Marvel Avengers star Jeremy Renner, who was hospitalized after a traumatic injury while plowing snow, has finally posted his first selfie after the accident.

The actor, who played Hawkeye in the Marvel ‘Avengers’ movies, was hospitalized after a traumatic injury while plowing snow. The actor posted a selfie from his hospital bed in Nevada, showing him looking bruised with oxygen tubes in his nose.

“Thank you all for your kind words,” he wrote on Instagram. “Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.” He was in critical but stable condition after his accident on New Year’s Day. He suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries in the accident. It happened during a blizzard that claimed the lives of dozens of individuals throughout the US.

The Arctic storm caused tens of thousands of homes and businesses to lose electricity and stirred up strong winds and snow, locking some residents inside with snowdrifts. The storm’s size was almost unheard of, extending from the Great Lakes near Canada to the Rio Grande near the Mexican border.

The 51-year-old who plays Hawkeye in the Marvel Avengers series of films has been nominated for two Oscars during his career. Renner received nominations for his roles in The Hurt Locker (2008) and The Town (2010).
