JERUSALEM: Israeli army officers on Saturday tied a wounded Palestinian man to the hood of a military jeep during an arrest operation in Jenin, a city in the occupied West Bank.
A man of Jenin named Mujahed Azmi is seen driving the vehicle past two ambulances in a video that has gone viral on social media.
The Israeli military issued a statement explaining that their forces were fired upon during the operation, returned fire, wounded a suspect, and subsequently apprehended him. The statement acknowledged that soldiers violated military protocol by strapping the suspect to the vehicle. “The suspect was taken by the forces while tied on top of a vehicle,” the statement read.

The military emphasized that the conduct depicted in the video does not align with the values of the Israeli military, promising an investigation into the incident. The suspect was eventually transferred to medics for treatment.
According to Azmi’s family, he was injured during the raid, and when they requested an ambulance, the army took him, strapped him to the jeep, and drove away.
Violence in the West Bank, already on the rise before Israel’s war on Gaza, has escalated further, with Jewish settlers frequently attacking Palestinian villages.
