Islamabad received its first winter rain of the season on Monday morning, with scattered showers reported across various parts of the city.
Heavy rain, accompanied by a hailstorm, was observed in Shehzad Town, while other areas, including G-6, G-7, F-7, Bara Kahu, and Murree Road, also experienced rainfall. The rain marked the end of the city’s dry spell, which had led to an increase in illnesses like flu, dry cough, and diarrhea, with elderly individuals and children being the worst affected.
The Meteorological Department has forecasted severe cold weather in the mountainous regions of the country, with rain likely in Islamabad and surrounding areas. Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to experience rain and thunderstorms in most regions. Snowfall is also predicted in various mountainous areas across the country, including parts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
Partly cloudy weather is anticipated in Murree, Galyat, and surrounding areas, while the cold wave continues in most districts of Balochistan. Fog is expected in regions such as Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Mangla, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, and Sahiwal. In addition, foggy conditions are predicted for Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Jhang, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanewal, Khanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.
Fog is also anticipated in Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas, as well as in Sukkur, Benazirabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Khairpur, and nearby regions. Rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, and Abbottabad, while foggy conditions are likely in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Peshawar, Nowshera, and Mardan.
