ISLAMABAD: A session court on Wednesday approved bail plea of senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry in a case related to passing threatening remarks to the members and families Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The court ordered to submit surety bonds of Rs.20,000.

During the course of post-arrest bail plea proceedings today, Judge Faizan Gilani rejected requests of ECP and Prosecutor to reject Fawad Chaudhry’s bail plea, and passed remarks that he was granting bail on the condition that Fawad Chaudhry would not repeat such (threatening) statement, adding that parliamentarians should avoid talking in such a tone.
Talking to media after today’s proceedings, lawyer Faisal Chaudhry alleged that Fawad Chaudhry was arrested on directives given from London.

Prominent lawyer Babar Awan said for the first time in his life, he witnessed such amount of disrespect for law and constitution, adding that Pakistan couldn’t move forward without the implementation of rule of law. He further said that the entire nation stood behind the narrative set by Imran Khan. Babar Awan claimed that the nation would soon get rid of the present rulers as Imran Khan was all set to stage a comeback. He said ‘we firmly believe the 65% of youth stand by us.”

Senior PTI leader Asad Umar, speaking on this occasion, said Babar Awan fought the case (of Fawad Chaudhry) with logic and truthfulness, adding that Fawad was punished for speaking truth. He said the constitution of Pakistan was in danger as Fawad was arrested by violating law and by posing direct challenge to constitution.
