ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory administration has prohibited the sale, purchase, and use of vuvuzelas (Bajas) in the federal capital ahead of Independence Day. This ban will be in effect for 10 days.
According to a notification dated August 8, the sale and use of these horns and whistles in Islamabad are likely to disturb public peace, create a nuisance, and disrupt tranquility within the city’s revenue limits. In response, the Islamabad district commissioner has instructed all assistant commissioners to confiscate any stalls selling these items.
Moreover, the district commissioner warned that anyone caught using or selling firecrackers will face legal action. He emphasized the importance of ensuring public safety during the celebrations.
These stalls are typically set up in every city in the lead-up to Independence Day. However, concerns have been raised about noise pollution and the safety of children due to these toys.
