Singer turned actor Azaan Sami Khan, who made his acting debut in drama ‘Ishq-e-Laa’ has often been labeled as a product of nepotism.
However, his starrer drama Ishq-e-Laa’s director Amin Iqbal defended the actor when he was asked about his take on the controversy. He said that he does not think that it is nepotism. “Azaan Sami Khan wanted to get into acting for years and he was finally cast for this role after he passed the screen test,” the director said.
He further stated that no producer would want to risk the success of their projects just to appease their contacts. The director also maintained that if Khan was really cast on contacts only then the drama production would have cast new faces along with him and not one of the leading faces of the drama industry. He was talking about female leads of the drama i.e. Sajal Aly and Yumna Zaidi.
