The ‘Aurat March’ has been the most hyped march in Pakistan since it began in 2018, the majority of women march for the most fundamental rights to the own body.
However, by the passage of time, men and transgenders too march proudly across the country and demand women’s rights. Demand against dowry, child marriages, and forced conversions is one thing but legalising homosexuality is another. The Pakistani youth has been promoting homosexuality since last year and it seems like it has become a manifesto of Aurat march.
The Aurat march which was held yesterday took place in Karachi, Lahore, and many cities of Pakistan but the unusual part was some of the people talking about unusual topics that are mainly considered taboo in Pakistan.
Talking to a renowned reporter, Yasir Shami in Lahore, a boy was asked if he supports homosexuality to which his response was positive. According to him, Quaid-e-Azam made Pakistan a secular state where two people have a right to live happily together, whether it’s opposite or the same gender.

He continued and gave a message to the government that if two people want to live together with consent they should be allowed to do so. He even said that the same genders can marry, it is possible and should be allowed too, according to him.
Another participant stepped in and told the interviewer that the topic of homosexuality is itself a very sensitive topic and whether it should be or not legalised is a secondary decision, there are other things that should be focussed on first, he maintained. His manifesto was transgenders should not be humiliated by insensitive names and should be treated equally.
