Rumors are circulating on social media that Imran Khan, the incarcerated founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is being transferred from Adiala jail to his residence in Bani Gala, Islamabad. However, there is no confirmation from any reliable source thus far.
On social media platform X, the hashtag #Banigala is trending, with posts and videos claiming that Imran Khan is being shifted to Bani Gala following the “victory” in the elections. These posts suggest that arrangements are being made both inside Bani Gala and outside for Khan’s transfer from jail. However, there is no authentic news on this matter from mainstream media.

It’s noteworthy that Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, is serving her jail sentence in Bani Gala. The residence has been referred to as a jail for her after she was sentenced to seven years imprisonment in the illegal nikkah case.
Imran Khan has been in Adiala jail since August of last year, facing a cumulative sentence of 31 years in three different cases. Trial courts have sentenced him to 14 years imprisonment in the Toshakhana case, 10 years in the cipher case, and seven years in the illegal nikkah case. He is also confronting several other cases, including those related to the May 9 incidents.
