Indian woman beats 87-year-old father-in-law with stick, video goes viral

A disturbing act of violence has come to light in Karnataka, where a woman assaulted her elderly father-in-law with a walking stick. The incident, captured in a video circulating on social media, reveals the shocking brutality inflicted by the daughter-in-law upon the 87-year-old man. This distressing event unfolded on March 9 in Mangaluru.

The CCTV footage captures the horrifying scene as Padmanabha Suvarna, an octogenarian resident of Mangaluru, becomes the target of his daughter-in-law, Uma Shankari, in Kulshekar. Brandishing a steel walking stick, Uma relentlessly strikes the elderly man while engaged in a heated argument. Despite Suvarna’s pleas for mercy, Uma’s assault continues unabated.

In a particularly disturbing moment, Uma forcefully pushes Suvarna to the ground, causing him to collide with a nearby sofa. Subsequently, Uma briefly exits the room, only to return with the intention of further assaulting the elderly man. However, she refrains from doing so, ultimately leaving the room with Suvarna still on the floor.

The viral video on social media has elicited widespread shock and outrage within the local community and online platforms. Calls for immediate action have surged, with demands for the implementation of laws to combat domestic abuse and ensure the protection of vulnerable elderly individuals.
