Uttar Pradesh: A player of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been accused of assaulting his sister-in-law.
According to a news agency’s report, it has been revealed that the sister-in-law of the IPL team’s bowler filed a complaint at the Shyokoti Police Station in Prayagraj, alleging that her brother-in-law has targeted her for sexual assault.
The resident woman from Varanasi has taken a stance in her complaint that her marriage took place in 2018 according to the customs and traditions of Buddhism in Varanasi, and she herself is serving as a constable in the same police station.
The woman stated in her complaint that her marriage in 2018 was in accordance with the customs of Buddhist tradition in Varanasi and that her husband concealed his first marriage, but the secret was revealed after the first wife’s appearance.

According to the complainant woman, a few days after the marriage, she was harassed about not bringing dowry, and due to this harassment, she returned to her maternal home. However, in 2019, her husband convinced her and brought her back with him.
As per the woman’s account, during a family function in July 2019, her brother-in-law, who is also a player in the IPL cricket team, misbehaved with her. When she complained to her husband about this, instead of listening to me, he tortured her
The woman alleged that pressure was also being exerted to convert her three-year-old son and her to another religion. The police have initiated an investigation after accepting the complaint.
