ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) has been shrouded in a veil of darkness in the wake of illegal actions of 5th August 2019.
While addressing the ambassadorial meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir via video link, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said IoK has become today’s largest open-air prison in the world.
According to him, India should be forced to rescind its illegal and unilateral actions in the occupied. The country should move towards a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per the UNSC resolutions, he added.
Qureshi lauded the brotherly nations of Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Niger for effectively articulating the voice of the Ummah in solidarity with the Kashmiris.

The foreign minister also praised Prime Minister Imran Khan that under his leadership, Pakistan has pursued an intense political and diplomatic campaign on the IoK dispute. Referring to the Indian atrocities, he said the occupied valley has been shrouded in a veil of darkness in the wake of illegal actions of 5th August 2019.
Earlier, Qureshi had written a letter to the president of the UN Security Council and the UN secretary general to apprise them of India’s continuing gross and systematic violations of human rights in IoK.
