Actor and filmmaker Aamir Khan has built a legacy as both an exceptional performer and a visionary. His impact goes far beyond the silver screen, shaping Indian cinema in remarkable ways, as reported by Indian media.
According to Indian Express, known for his selective approach, Aamir ensures each project he takes on is a game-changer. Beyond acting, he plays a key role in production, shaping films with meticulous attention.
His carefully crafted works continue to inspire generations of actors and filmmakers. On his 60th birthday, his co-stars and directors reflected on his lasting impact.
Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who helmed Rang De Basanti, praised Aamir’s dedication. “I have worked with many actors, but Aamir operates on another level,” he said.
“For him, the film always comes first, not himself,” Mehra explained. “He surrenders completely to the director, no questions asked, giving his all.”
“His talent is limitless; he is like an ocean,” he added. “It’s up to you how deep you want to dive to discover the pearls of his ability.”
Mehra further stated that Aamir’s influence will be better understood over time. “A hundred years from now, his contribution to global cinema will be undeniable.”
Mona Singh, his co-star in 3 Idiots and Laal Singh Chaddha, agreed. “He is fully involved in every aspect of filmmaking,” she shared.
“Whenever I’ve worked with him, I’ve seen him multitasking,” she continued. “He knows the lighting, the lens, everything—he’s always 200% committed.”
Unlike his contemporaries, Aamir Khan prefers to focus on fewer films. “Less is more,” Mehra noted. “Doing too many movies can dilute an actor’s impact.”
Aamir’s Ghajini was the first Bollywood film to cross Rs100 crore at the box office. “He always prioritizes quality, and success follows naturally,” Mehra said.
“It’s not about how many films you do,” he added. “It’s about the impact your work leaves behind, and Aamir understands that deeply.”
