LAHORE: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Sunday thanked people of Lahore for attending his public gathering in huge numbers and not letting him down.

Despite cabal of crooks locking down Lahore (see map) & arresting 2000 of our workers, people of Lahore came in huge numbers to make our 6th Minar-i-Pakistan jalsa a great success. I want to especially thank my Lahorites for not letting me down yet again. Proud of you. pic.twitter.com/rrRiRx5uSl

His comment came hours after PTI staged an impressive power show at Minar-e-Pakistan despite facing dozens of road blockades across the city. Even the city traffic police posted updates on Twitter mentioning road blocks in different areas.

Social media users posted videos and pictures, showing containers blocking roads and ways leading to Minar-e-Pakistan.

Some students who were scheduled to appear for the Institute of Chartered Accountant exams were also affected by the road blockades. It has been reported that they were unable to reach the exam venue due to the blocked roads.

The drivers have been directed to keep their trucks blocking the roads until 12 pm tomorrow. The police crackdown is ongoing as authorities aim to maintain law and order during the PTI public gathering.

Dozens of users posted screen shots of Google Map showing the number of blockade around the city.
