KARACHI: The higher authorities of the Karachi Development Authority’s (KDA) education department have illegally promoted a female teacher 10 times in seven years, it has been revealed.
According to details, the female officer, identified as Maira Azeem, was appointed at Grade 07 in the IRC department in 2010. However, she illegally acquired Grade 17 scale at the end of 2017. Currently, the female officer is serving as Principal in Federal B Area Block 14 KDA School.
Sources prior to the development have informed that Maria Azeem was first promoted in 2013 from Grade 07 to Grade 11. Later, the female officer was again promoted to Grade 16 in 2015.
According to the seniority list received by MM News, Maira was appointed in 2010 at the Grade 07 scale. However, no steps have been taken against illegal promotion. Relevant sources informed that some seniors, whose rights have been violated, have decided to file a petition in the Sindh High Court.

Earlier, massive irregularities and illegal appointments were revealed in the education department of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA).
According to details, female teachers accused of funds embezzlement have been appointed as school headmistress of KDA schools. The teachers are allegedly involved in the embezzling of School Management Committee (SMC) funds.
