ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has granted a four-week bail to former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the illegal appointment case.
The bail was granted to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi after he filed a petition in the IHC in which he sought a protective bail in the same case. On behalf of him, Barrister Zafarullah Khan filed the petition.
A Karachi court issued warrants for his arrest on 27th March in an illegal appointment case. This is the second reference NAB has filed against him.
The IHC granted him a 4-week vail with the provision that he appear before the Karachi court within four weeks. The Karachi court had summoned him on 10th April.
The AC had issued non-bailable warrants for Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in a reference about the illegal appointment. He was granted bail in the LNG case by the IHC last month.
Abbasi earlier said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has paralyzed the country. The NAB could not be able to prove any allegation against him despite being six months.
Abbasi also claimed that NAB was pressurizing his friends and family members. He held the incumbent government accountable for the NAB’s action against the political leaders by saying the state was using the bureau for political revenge.
