Humayun Saeed, who made Pakistan proud after he was featured in the Netflix original “The Crown Season 5”, recently talked about getting selected for ‘The Crown’.
The Crown actor played the character of Dr Hasnat Khan in the Netflix series opposite Elizabeth Debicki, who played the character of Lady Diana. The on-screen couple shared adorable chemistry.
Lately, the actor appeared in a show ‘The Knock Knock Show’, hosted by Mohib Mirza, where he discussed the process of getting selected for The Crown and said that he underwent multiple auditions for the series.
According to Saeed, he was chosen among eight actors from India and Pakistan. Talking about it, he said, “I got The Crown by luck. I gave auditions for the role because it is their process. They first see the work of an actor and then select him/her.”
He continued, “Initially, I was shocked to get the character of Dr. Hasnat, I was already watching The Crown. I never thought about getting it.”
He added, “When I got the character, I got thrilled and a bit worried when they asked for the auditions.”
He further added that he was given two scenes, and then his agent told him that there were 8 actors from India and Pakistan so be prepared for auditions.
“First, I made a place into the top five, then I made the place into the top two. I took help from Nadir, he taught me things and approved my audition,” he said by adding, “I also gave an audition with Elizabeth Debicki. I got excited but still they didn’t call me, they called me when I stopped waiting for it.
