The new era of e-commerce boom is set to start for Pakistan as e-commerce giant Amazon has decided in principle to add the country to its sellers’ list within the next few days. The move will help promote more businesses and online buyers will get reach to Pakistani brands.
Pakistan’s e-commerce industry has grown rapidly over the past few years but heavy reliance on cash has ensured gathering data and establishing benchmarks remains a challenge. So how one can sell the products on Amazon? Let’s find out.
Amazon added Pakistan: What does it mean?
Pakistan has finally bagged a position in the Amazon-approved selling countries and within the next 12-24 hours. Accounts can be made using Pakistani details.
We have remained off Amazon’s list of sellers despite the company’s presence in neighboring India. Pakistani retailers wishing to sell their products on the marketplace would register their companies from other countries, in an effort to bypass Pakistan.
However, after being added to the list, Pakistani merchants will be able to sell their products on the platform with ease. Amazon can enable your business to build a large customer base. You will now be able to deliver to more than 100 countries in the world.
What Amazon offers?
Pakistan’s addition to Amazon’s sellers’ list will create opportunities for the exporters to sell their products through the platform. The platform offers Amazon’s 3 P model, which serves brand owners (third party relationship — retailers sell directly to buyers through the marketplace) while 1 P model is for mass producers (marketplace acts as retailers while brand is wholesale supplier), who want to produce for Amazon brand items.
You can only become a 1P seller through a direct invitation from Amazon. To become a 3P seller, the first step is setting up a Seller Central account. You’ll then provide relevant information and verifications before getting your account approved and finally listing and shipping your products.
How to make seller account?
To create your own seller account on Amazon, go to its official page. Scroll down and right click on the see pricing option under “make money” header as there you will be asked to opt for any option among two.
According to your selling plan you will have to choose like, if you plan to sell lesser than 40 products a month then selecting “individual” plan will be your best bet otherwise you can select “professional plan” which will cost you $ 39.99 for extra services.
After selection of appropriate plan enter your email and a password for your seller account or otherwise create new one. The next step is to share Business location that is the country where your business will be present. You can now provide Pakistan as business location after the development.
Next, you have to share Business type as you’ll be asked to choose your business entity from the options given below: Publicly owned business; State-owned business; Privately-owned business; Charity; None, I am an individual.
Which medium would be used for payments, as PayPal is not available in Pakistan? Soon PayPal or Ebay will be allowed as well. It’s a matter of time. The contact of Amazon Pakistan for sellers and buyers, phone number, email, helpline, and information will be soon available. Till then, we can also connect bank accounts.
