Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has introduced the “Honhaar Laptop Scholarship Program” to support outstanding students, ensuring they face no barriers to pursuing higher education. Under this initiative, 50,000 laptops and merit-based scholarships will be distributed to deserving students across Punjab within the next 90 days.
Key Features of the Honhaar Laptop Scholarship Program
Laptop Distribution
- 50,000 laptops will be distributed across Punjab by February 20.
- The laptops are Core i7, 13th-generation models.
- 5,000 laptops will be distributed within the first 30 days.
- Special Beneficiaries
- 2,000 laptops are reserved for students from minority communities.
- High-achieving Matriculation and F.Sc students will receive laptops along with a Guard of Honour.
Scholarship Categories
- University Students: 20,000 laptops allocated.
- College Students: 14,000 laptops designated.
- Medical and Dental Students: 2,000 laptops earmarked.
- Industry and Agriculture Students: 4,000 laptops prioritized for these fields.
Chief Minister’s Merit Scholarship Program
The Merit Scholarship Program aims to empower female students by fully covering their tuition fees for 4 to 5 years. 18,000 female students will receive full tuition fee scholarships.
Application Process
Eligible students can apply through their respective educational institutions. Selection will be based on academic performance, with priority given to top-performing students and those from minority groups.
